Dialogue

On the dialogue, I took a lot of inspiration from some of the League of Legends Community postings on YouTube, which has either a lot of art, songs, or animations. I didn't know what I wanted to make the dialogue about for a while, but then I started looking at videos that explain and show how to do mouth movements, which gave me more inspiration toward how to formulate it. I knew I wanted to have a character that is loud and obnoxious because I figured it would be funny and stand out.

Puppet

I loved working on the puppet. I never really used puppet tools in the past, and it felt so smooth and easy. I feel like I was able to add a lot of emotion into my character through the movement, the static-ness of the robotic body and the antenna.

Head Turn

I felt very crunched on time, as this was around the time of all my midterms for the semester. I wasn't very happy with this one, but I feel like I got the head turn down. Adding more details, and maybe spacing out the frames more, to look more fluid and representable would have been great additions, which I think I will edit this and add that version eventually as well.

Pantomime

This was another project that I wish that I worked on a background, which I'm going to start doing more! The idea was that my flour sack was going to be climbing up a hill/mountain and eventually gets exhausted and takes a nap. I feel like I was able to depict that to a mild degree, but it didn't translate perfectly.

Gesture Drawings - Flour Boys!

Image
These were gesture drawings of different status, as well as facial expressions. I very much enjoyed the bottom right one. It shows a lot of spunk and motion. It had the most character out of all of them.

Overlapping action

I think I missed the idea of this project a bit. I decided to go in blindly, and liked the idea of a bouncing ball turning into a balloon of sorts, free and waving in the air, until the end, where it gets stuck and is playing with the wind. I feel like if I added a background, as well as developed my frames better it would have been a stronger piece.

Weight

While working on this project, I watched numerous different recordings of boxes and garbage bags being picked up. I wanted the garbage bag to be picked up to depict a lot of weight, so I wanted to make it filled, potentially full of a heavy type of material, especially for the size of the character to have struggled with.
